HOW WE MET

We matched on Hinge—because apparently the algorithm knew what it was doing—and went out for dinner and pool. Jenna may have slightly exaggerated her pool skills to impress Max (spoiler: Jenna did not, in fact, run the table). Despite that, or maybe because of it, we hit it off. The following week, we saw each other four times... and basically never stopped. The rest is history, and luckily, so is Jenna’s pool game.

“Our first date was a Thursday evening. At the end of the date Max asked if he could see me again… that weekend! AH! We ended up getting coffee on Saturday, and studied together on Sunday. At that point I knew I was in trouble. ”

THE PROPOSAL

We designed the ring together back in February, and then Max held onto it for six long months while Jenna dropped many not-so-subtle hints. Wanting to recreate our favorite memory from a trip to Northern Michigan, Max secretly scouted the perfect sunset spot in South Haven. When we climbed to the top of a dune, hearts racing and sand everywhere, he grabbed Jenna’s hands, dropped to one knee, and made it official. She said yes as the puppy raced up and down the dune looking for the biggest stick she could find.

“ I knew the general area I wanted to propose, but had to go searching for the exact right spot. Once I walked up the dune, I immediately knew it was the spot, and it struck me that it would be a place we would always remember.”
